About Tania Bradkin

Tania Bradkin, MSW, LCSW, is a bilingual (Spanish) licensed clinical social worker currently focused on working with adults age 18+. Her strengths-based and solutions-focused approach assists clients with anxiety, depression, transitions, and other challenges and phases of change. Tania is Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) Level One trained through founder Dr. Pat Ogden's Institute and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Level One trained through EMDR founder Dr. Francine Shapiro’s Academy. In addition to EMDR and SP, her post-graduate trainings have included Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), suicide prevention, and play therapy coursework. Tania also supports data that affirms the benefits of having an emotional support animal (ESA) such as a cat or a dog. Her work is grounded in the science and data of developmental stages, attachment theory, trauma-informed and ongoing interpersonal neurobiological findings.

Tania specializes in understanding and addressing the challenges individuals and families face in this era of increased perfectionism, loneliness, obesity, and access to technology. She has worked in a variety of settings including: former experience as a preschool teacher, a deep understanding of neurodivergent and special needs populations through her Junior League (now sustainer) endeavors as the chair of a literacy program where she also developed the placement curriculum for an agency that fostered independent living in Washington, DC, a hospital in South Central Los Angeles as a psychiatric social worker, as an advocate at LIFTcommunities.org and as the psychotherapist in homes created by Christ-Centered Ministries for people completing their felony and misdemeanor sentences also in South Central Los Angeles.

Tania brings a unique perspective to her work as a mother of 22-year-old boy/girl twins. Her own personal journey has included losing over 100 pounds of twin pregnancy weight gain by utilizing Pilates, a combo of running and walking, and the Weight Watchers program. She lost this weight within 2 years after giving birth and has maintained this lifestyle for over 20 years. Tania believes that therapy or coaching can be a collaborative place to thrive and identify the unique resources and supports that can not only help you achieve your goals but ultimately increase the most important relationship: your mind-body connection to yourself.

Tania began her MSW at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work in Philadelphia and completed her MSW at the University of Southern California School of Social Work in Los Angeles, following the completion of two bachelor’s degrees at American University in Washington, D.C. in public communication and political science and a semester in Madrid, Spain. Tania’s academic emphasis on mental health and military populations addresses the effects of trauma and stress, incorporating evidence-based interventions such as cultivating a mindfulness practice and trauma integration for increased well-being.

Tania has also been appointed twice: she has served as a Commissioner for Social Services in the City of Santa Monica and has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster youth in Los Angeles. Once appointed as a Commissioner for the City of Santa Monica in 2013, Tania noticed that she was the only person of color on the commission; she advocated for representation change resulting in a more diverse, inclusionary commission.

Tania was the onset therapist for a project directed by Jonah Hill in collaboration with Instagram IGTV's Bullying Docu-Series entitled, "#Unfiltered." This series featured the unscripted stories of young people aged 13-25 who were the targets or perpetrators of bullying, both online and in real life, and how social media has affected their well-being. Tania’s contributions expand to her writings on The Huffington Post Blog where she has shared developmental advice both in Spanish and in English as well as dating advice in a local Dallas periodical focused on populations age 50 plus and distributed through Whole Foods called FYI 50+. She looks forward to working with clients to provide tailored, innovative, and holistic solutions to enhance happiness and well-being.
